Joshua Tree / Salton Sea / Salvation Mountain

An innkeeper bestowing bananas with magical properties. Grotesque creatures of ten thousands spiny points, extending their arms in mimic of Durga. An outlaw biker reminding one of where they are, and who is calling the shots. Sun-scorched earth that does not readily reveal it’s secrets. The crackle of desert rain on dry palm fronds. People from all walks of life and locations, collected in this harsh environment, making their way. The desert is a place that exudes mystique. There is a certain beauty and allure that attracts, and sometimes doesn’t let go. I make no claim to understand why. My experience was brief, but transformative.
